Chris takes us on a rap journey through some of the areas of Bristol.
This story was created in the artist’s own time.

Yo, this is alkali. This one’s for you about Bristol.
Yo, this is nothin’
Listen to this one, then.
See this is about a place called Bristol,
Come prepared Friday night so you get a fistful.
From Hartcliffe to St Pauls it’s all going on,
In Hartcliffe they carry wood, in St Pauls they carry guns.
Now moving on to Easton, and Knowle West,
Their heads will be hung high because they’re thining that they’re blessed,
Socks tucked in because they’ve got ankle biters,
And none of them are boxers, for that matter even fighters.
Move on again to Withywood and Lockleaze,
We’ll be locking them in with our front door keys.
And enough about those areas now,
That shit’s been and gone,
And now it’s about time for me to move on.
In Bristol it’s all about having fun,
And when the weekend’s over it seems like it’s just begun.
Imagine having an extra day in a week,
That would be quite different – yeah it would be quite unique.
In Bristol, night time’s when it comes alive,
But spare a thought for those on welfare, struggling to survive.
Living on nothing, sign on the dotted line,
And with our black biro pen put it to paper and sign.
In Bristol it’s not all as bad as you think,
But there’s lots to do, like Bristol ice rink.
People have no imagination these days,
So they’ll go and steal a car and set it ablaze.
In Bristol at the moment the weather isn’t very good,
But in the winter, I don’t suppose it should.
I just hope summer’s on its way soon,
Because I can’t wait for the peak in the month of June.
In Bristol education is quite poor,
Because people can’t afford private schooling no more.
It’s the biggest rip-off that I’ve ever seen;
Education is important if you know what I mean.
In Bristol there’s a big problem with kids these days,
‘Cause they go around thinking they’re hard in their thuggish ways.
No problem – I think word of mouth will sort that out,
I’m sure it will, I know it will, without a doubt.
They’re not as hard as they think when they’re running down the road,
Being followed by someone who’s switched into kill mode.
Then they don’t know to mess with that person again,
Because in Bristol that’s one of the problems: they don’t seem sane.
In Bristol you need to stand up tall.
People won’t listen unless you tell them all.
In a big community it’s maybe a bit hard,
But if you’re a one-man army without a bodyguard…
I think that you’ve heard enough – I think you get it now.
Bristol’s where it’s at, and you wanna say how?
Sorry, no reply – you’re ruining my health,
But if you wanna come to Bristol come and see it for yourself.
Yo, that was alkali – listen. Nothin’ more.
